LSMD Exams (Speech and Drama/Public Speaking)

Congratulations to all of our students who took their ‘Speech and Drama’ and ‘Public Speaking’ exams this week with Ms. Eva Coffey. This was a major achievement during this time; particularly as the girls had to take their exam on Zoom. Ms. Coffey was so impressed with all of the girls and thoroughly enjoyed meeting each and every student.

Well done, girls! Ms. Quinn :)

J3s say “Mind Yourself”

To celebrate our mid-term holidays the two J3 classes joined forces to create Mindfulness Butterflies.  The girls in J6 have been uploading daily videos for us called J6 Thought of the Day. Ms. Stapleton and Mr. O'Connor took part too and the J6's showed us how to create beautiful butterflies step by step. We learned that mindfulness colouring helps us to switch off from our busy thoughts and that focusing on a simple activity like colouring actually relaxes our brain. Lots of the girls in our class already practise mindfulness at home and find it really helpful.

February Fun with PS Lower

The month of February was full of celebrations and in Preschool Lower we enjoyed celebrating them all. There were birthdays, Chinese New Year, Pancake Tuesday and Valentine’s Day. We constructed paper chain dragons and love bugs and drew fireworks using chalk. We decorated delicious love heart cookies and had our own Pancake Tuesday with adorable teddy bear pancakes.

J4R EPIC Museum: Antarctic Expedition

This week, J4R attended a workshop run by EPIC Museum. During the workshop, intrepid explorer Simon and his first mate Finola took us on an adventure to follow the footsteps of Ernest Shackleton and his men to the South Pole! On our journey, we learned all about the Antarctic, its animals and climate as well as some of the dangers you might encounter there! We really enjoyed attending and would like to thank EPIC Museum for facilitating such a wonderful workshop!

What is Pink?

J4W looked at the poem What is Pink? by Christina Rossetti. The girls wrote their own versions of the poem in groups, then illustrated their favourite line from their piece. J4W really enjoyed learning about this beautiful poem. We especially thank Miss Costigan for helping us to create our poetry pieces!
