Our School Policies
Our policies ensure the safety of each member of our community and the smooth operation of a complex organisation. They reflect the ethos, educational philosophy and approach of the College.
Alexandra College Covid-19 Response Plan
Senior School Policies
Alexandra College supports the principles of inclusiveness, equality of access and participation in school, and parental choice. Our Annual Admissions Notice sets out the date from which the school will accept Applications for Enrolment for the relevant year and the deadline for receiving applications for enrolment.
Boarding plays a central part in the life of the College, lending the school the energy and warmth of a community which lives and learns together. Phase 2 of our Campus Development Plan will see a beautiful new residence at the heart of our campus. We are delighted that our new “Res” will mean that we have some new boarding spaces available for 2021 and 2022.

Code of Behaviour
Our behaviour policies encourage the daily practice and development of practical wisdom, character, good judgement and kindness. Realisation of the school’s mission depends on every member of the school community contributing to a happy place of belonging and learning. Any offer of a place at Alexandra College is subject to acceptance of our Code of Behaviour.
This policy is to guide the whole school community in providing and maintaining a happy place to learn, thrive and develop an inclusive, joyful and generous way of being.
Device, Internet & Social Media Policy
This policy provides the procedures to keep the whole school community safe and aware online. It reminds us to think critically and carefully before acting or reacting online.
Educational Outings & Trips Policy
We recognise that exposure to a variety of experiences and cultures is part of an holistic education. We encourage students to be curious, to engage in intellectual challenge and to explore the world around them. Tours and outings provide a significant benefit to the educational, intellectual, cultural, and social development of students which cannot be achieved by in-school activities alone. They are an extension and reinforcement of classroom activities.
Relationships and Sexuality Policy
Alexandra College aims to provide our students with the skills to evaluate and synthesise a wide range of information, opinions and attitudes so that they are enabled to make positive, responsible, respectful choices about themselves and the way they live their lives.
We aim to give each student the desire and skills to become an eager, engaged self-directed learner. Home learning is an important element of the process of becoming a self-directed learner and is an integral part of a student’s education.
