Hermione Art Exhibition

We are delighted to announce that the Hermione Art Exhibition is returning to Alexandra College from Friday 10 May to Wednesday 15 May.

We look forward to the exhibition returning to the College calendar, as Alexandra College is the only school in the country which organises a group show of contemporary visual art. The Hermione Exhibition has always been prestigious, featuring artists from leading galleries and awards shows, artist members of the RHA and Aosdána, and exciting recent graduates who have exhibited in previous years. Among the many artists who have consistently shown with us are Donald Teskey, Mary Lohan, Martin Gale, Liam Belton, James Hanley, Michael Cullen, Michael O'Dea, Jane O'Malley, Carey Clarke, Una Sealy and Sahoko Blake.

Exhibition Opening and Lecture - Friday 10 May at 6 pm

The Exhibition will open on Friday 10 May at 6:00 pm and will be formally opened by Dr. Caroline Campbell, Director of the National Gallery of Ireland; Dr Campbell will deliver The Hermione lecture at 7:00 pm. The Exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday 11th to Wednesday 15th May, 10 am - 4 pm. The exhibition catalogue is issued with invitations to the opening and is also freely available to members of the public attending the exhibition on subsequent days.

Arrangements for Exhibiting Artists

Prior to the Exhibition, we ask that exhibiting artists arrange delivery of their work to the Senior School Reception on Wednesday 1st, Thursday 2nd or Friday 3rd May from 9 am to 4 pm. Art should arrive wrapped, labelled and ready to hang.

Following the Exhibition, art can be collected on Thursday 16 or Friday 17 May from 9 am to 4 pm.  Artists should go directly to the Senior School Reception where a member of staff will arrange for collection. Each piece must be signed out by the collector. When collecting art, it is the artist's responsibility to take it down from its hanging position. Wrapping materials will be provided if you would like to wrap it yourself.

It’s important that you collect your work during the time specified, as after this, it cannot be stored in the College. The College will not cover any costs incurred, or co-ordinate, collecting or returning any work.

If you have any questions, please contact us at hermione@alexandracollege.ie. We look forward to hearing from you, and welcome your participation in this great contemporary art group show.
