They toured the prison’s corridors, cells, and execution area while learning about its role in Ireland’s fight for independence. The guide explained the history of the prison, including the stories of prisoners, providing a detailed overview of its place in Irish history.
EPIC Museum and Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship
The boarders visited the EPIC Museum in Dublin’s Docklands to learn about the history of Irish emigration. Through interactive displays, they explored the reasons people left Ireland, the challenges they faced abroad, and the influence of the Irish diaspora worldwide. Afterwards, they went aboard the Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship, a replica of a 19th-century emigrant vessel, and learned about the conditions passengers experienced on their journey across the Atlantic.
Butler's Chocolate Factory
The girls visited Butler’s Chocolate Factory to see how chocolate is made from start to finish. They observed the production process, watched chocolatiers at work, and learned about different types of chocolate and techniques. Each boarder also had the opportunity to decorate their own chocolate creations, making the visit both educational and hands-on.
