The team are looking forward to the year ahead, supporting younger students, helping with activities, and working together to make life in Res as fun and welcoming as possible.
Res Library
Alex Res is delighted to have a brand-new library space, already proving to be a cosy spot for reading, studying, or simply unwinding with a good book. To help keep everything organised, seven enthusiastic Transition Year students have stepped up as our very own librarians: Tito B (4R), Amy C T (4R), Jilly M (4R), Andrea M (4O), Grace H (4T), Lucy M (4R) and Alvina A (4R). They’ve been busy arranging shelves, recommending reads, and making the library a welcoming place for everyone to enjoy.
Horse Riding
This week marked the first horse riding lesson for some of the girls in Alex Res, and it was met with plenty of excitement. From getting to know their horses to trying out the basics in the saddle, everyone had a great time. The girls are already looking forward to heading back next Saturday to build on what they’ve learned!
September Weekend Trips
Dublin Zoo
A favourite weekend outing, the girls enjoyed a fun day at the zoo exploring everything from playful meerkats to majestic lions. The highlight for many was watching the penguins being fed, sparking lots of laughter and photos. Between spotting animals and learning fascinating facts, everyone left with stories to share and a new favourite creature!
Avondale Treetop Walk
Always a thrilling adventure, the trip to Avondale Treetop Walk was a chance for the girls to take in stunning views while testing their nerve high above the forest floor. Some surprised themselves with how confident they felt up in the canopy, while others simply enjoyed the peaceful scenery. The day ended with smiles all around and plenty of talk about who was the bravest!
Viking Splash Tour
The girls had an unforgettable time on the Viking Splash tour, roaring like true Vikings as the vehicle made its way through the city streets before splashing into the water. The mix of history, humour and adventure had everyone laughing, and the staff joined in the fun too. It was a perfect blend of learning and excitement, making for a memorable afternoon.
